Herman the Carrot Cake
This is a recipe variation based on Stephanie Alexander's Carrot Cake recipe from the cook's companion. I've not asked so I'm not going to publish that recipe - the book is well worth the price.
The variation is to add the starter from the Herman the German Friendship Cake and vary some of the other ingredients a bit to take that into account.
Ingredients
- As per the recipe in Stephanie's cook book
- Increase the amount of self raising flour from 125g to 175g
- Reduce the number of eggs from 2 to 1
- Add one quantity (ie 350-400g) of Herman starter
Preparation
- As per the recipe in Stephanie's cook book
- Add Herman starter with other wet ingredients
- Same cooking time as the recipe in Stephanie's cook book
