Country Fire Authority (CFA)

Find the Fire

When we receive a page the location of the incident is given by a co-ordinate based on the Redfearn series, which is used in our map books. In order to look up a location on Google Maps this co-ordinate need to be translated to Latitude/Longitude. I use a module by P.Howart based on a spreadsheet by Geoscience Australia to make this calculation.

In it's current simple form a pager co-ordinate is entered into the form and the incident is shown in relation to my home CFA station in Woodend.
